I am a Professor of Philosophy in the

Philosophy Faculty at Oxford University and

a Tutorial Fellow at Mansfield College,
Oxford
.

My main area of research is 17th C Philosophy,

particularly the work of G. W. Leibniz. But
I have
interests in many other areas of
philosophy.

As someone with a Bipolar Disorder diagnosis, I am also interested

in issues in philosophy of psychiatry. I recently published a semi-popular

piece, 'What Is It Like to Be Manic?'

For more on my philosophical interests, see my 2014 interview for 3am magazine
